I went out today feb 5th, and stumbled on to a old horn I have been looking for for two years! I found the right horn in jan 2004, the buck was harvested oct 2005, so I gave them the one shed I had. now today I found the match right out in the open!! now I need to get a hold of the people I gave the other side to and see what we can work out. I think this will be a mid 30s" with the cheaters! I will post more of both sides together later>

That is an awesome shed. I cant believe it has gone unoticed in that open of an area. there must not be alot of people looking around for sheds over there. Let us know how the dealin goes to get the other side, or are you going to give that one away to them?

Incredible! That is some wide open country! Makes you think some yote or something had it hid somewhere. I had the same thing happen to me on a nice buck. Found the one side in the spring and searched all summer for the other side only to find it the next spring only 50 yds away!

You aint a kidding about "out in the open". That sucks you gave the other side away...good luck with getting it back.

Im not bagging on you at all, but I am just curious as to how you missed that sucker! Was there snow? By looking at the pic it looks like you could see that thing with your naked eye on those hills in the background.
I know how it is to look for another side and not find it until the next year or later, but when that happens usually the forage is thicker or there is snow or something.
So, not putting you down, but Im curious as to how you and everyone else looking for sheds in that area missed that one, for 2 years.

I CANT BELIVE I MISSED IT ALSO! THERE WAS SNOW THE LAST TIME I LOOKED, SO GIVE ME SOME SLACK, AND THE YEAR BEFORE WHEN I WAS OUT THERE, IT MUST HAVE BLENDED IN BETTER. I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT ME AND A BUDDY WALKED WITHIN 50 YDRS THE LAST TIME WE WERE THERE! OH WELL S&^$% HAPPENS.
I NEED TO FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN MAKE A DUPICATE SET OFF THESE HORNS,, ANY SUGGESTIONS??

I saw a video on E-bay that taught you how to cast antlers. Someone with the name 231nontypical bid on them. Was it you and if so did you win the auction. I just wanted to find out if the video was worth the cost. Thanks!

yep, that was me,,, but I got out bid. there was also a 4 page booklet on how to cast, I think it sold for aound $15.00,, but the same document is free at www.smooth-on.com I have printed it off but havent tried the method yet.
