I got my official email today with a successful note for my Cache Cow elk tag. I have never drawn an elk tag before and my unit is huge. I am very familiar with the south cache but not so much for the north. I am trying to find a plan B for my hunt which is Oct 4th thru Oct 16th.
Is the north cache herds hurting as much as people are saying they are? Does the north cache seem to get more pressure than the south end?
I don't want someones hunting hole. Just need alittle help being pointed in the right direction. I have helped others on this site in the past and hope good karma can shine my way.
I've only harvested one elk before which was a cow a couple years ago with a depredation tag. The freezer is empty and the family of five is praying I can put more yummy steaks in it.
Any ideas or pointers would be appreciated. PMs are welcome.
