Not a muley, but whitetail will have to do. Shot this guy Monday evening at 22 yards with my Switchback XT using g5 broadheads. He didn't go 50 yards before piling up. I left him an hour, then recovered him. He scores right at 140" gross with just shy of 40" of mass measurments. He field dressed out at 180 pounds, which is BIG for Texas whitetail. I couldn't have asked for more - it's a rush with a bow and to top it off, taking a deer of this caliber with him being my best bow buck. Perfect!

well....here's how it happened.

He came out, stood broad side at 22 yards. I was nervous of course and hit him just a smidge back - maybe two inches. I don't think he knew he was hit. He kind of trotted off and stood there. He kept standing there, not moving. Then his head slowly started to drop. I didn't know if he was about to run off, or die. I put my rangefinder on him - 37 yards and I didn't see any blood coming out. He was quartering away pretty good - but I thought I better go ahead and get another one in him. Like I said, he was quartering away. I hit just left of where I was aiming, but with the angle, it went in his front shoulder and out his neck. Not a shot I'd like to repeat, but it might have been the fatal shot - I don't know. He didn't go any further.
