My 2008 Black Bear

Just got back from unit 17 this weekend with no moose, however on the way out going through 21 I was able to take this nice bear. 6-7 years old and about 200 pound 5 footer.

PS... Spine shooting a black bear with a 375 H&H drops them fast.

Wife was shooting a 243 and dumped her bear in its tracks. Kinda cool.

I saw one cow that was up in the shale rock were the goats live. There was 13 total wolves down in the valleys and meadows and Im sure they have pushed everything up into the high ridges. Also found 4 different elk kills within a .5 mile radius. To top that off, I have a picture of a set of Grizzly Tracks that are as big as my boot.

I will go back in there in October and hopefully the moose will have moved back down to the valleys. By the way, this moose is a B&C BOMBER and stayed in that same area all summer, so if he was killed I think i would have found him. So I am confident that he will be there in a couple of weeks.

Good luck man. I am sure he wil be back down in the area. I would think if you are seeing a few cows in the same area that the big boy was in during the summer, then he would likely be back in a few weeks when the rut kicks in. hopefully he dosen't wander off looking for love.

I bet fish and game would like to look at the pictures of the Grizz Tracks... Not really supposed to be any of them critters in there.. thogh the "locals" have pretty frequent sightings..
