VERY nice antelope Ernesto, congratulations! That's a great goat, especially for your first archery animal. Thanks for posting. Ohm yeah, like your bow choice too. :)

Congratulations. Nice pictures.

...And they begin to fall. This is going to be a great year.

Real nice!
I spent the day, yesterday, in Wyo. spot and stalk antelope, fairly exciting and actually drew my bow on one.... Man they blow out fast! ha

Thanks for sharing.....

Congratulations! That is a nice goat. Were you in a blind, or did you spot and stalk?
You should be proud of your first one!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-16-05 AT 08:04PM (MST)[p]Nice "Goat" looks like it has some good mass to it. I', going to take a punch at it and say 60's

Congrats! Good job, what are your plans for the rest of the fall? Mnay people hunt many years before ever taking big game with a bow. Good for you!

Congrats on getting off to a great start in 2005. That's a good buck and it sounds like you hammered him.

Nice ANTELOPE! The ANTELOPE must be blocking the goat from my angle. If you passed on a bigger one then I can't even imagine. A doe isn't safe with me around. I've been stomping around for an ANTELOPE but it's still early. One of the most exciting hunts I think.

Zigga:

Now,now,now....relax on the goat vs. ANTELOPE thing. :) For those who hunt them a lot and/or those who live near them, "prarie goat", "speed goat" and sometimes just plain "goat" are often used to identify them. Sort of like "dinky dog rat deer" for whitetails. :)

Again Ernesto....nice prarie goat! :)

Congrats on your first archery kill. He looks like a dandy. You have to write a story about the hunt to go with the pictures. The rest of us are getting ready for upcoming hunts so we need some stories to pass the time.

Thanks again for sharing your pics.

Big "E" I see your quiver is empty, did you only have one arrow left LMAO, Very nice "Goat" a Great job with the Hoyt.

Thanks all for the comments!

Gator,
Actually my quiver doesn't hold the broadheads in like its suppose to so I just go "indian" style, i carry them with me till I get ready for the shot and drop the spares on the ground. Im not sure why they are not staying in, im new to archery so maybe im not doing something right?

Ernesto:

That's a newer Hoyt quiver designed to hold both aluminum AND carbon arrows. If you're shooting carbons (looks like you are) you need to "double snap" them in. The first (larger) slot is designed for aluminum arrows. Once you're in that slot, apply more pressure and carbon arrows snap in even deeper, providing a very secure hold on your arrows. Hope it helps.

Had the same problem with beemans on my first bow they was too small to fit tight and I would lose one here and there. Great job on the goat.

Ernesto,

I missed this when you posted it last week, congrats to you on a fine antelope. Job well done young man!!!
