Don't me to bust any one's glory but I will if your going to do it right then do it right(what the rules and reg's. say you can and can't do) Case in point the story on page 10 Two bucks in Two Week's page 11 the hunter in question is in Colorado hunting of course Muley's. Him and his buddy find a hell of a buck hunter goes after buck his friend stay's back to watch it this is where they screw up friend radio's hunter that the buck is at full alert hunter hear's this and take's off at a full run to get to the buck.In the end hunter shoot's buck, score 225 hell of a deer but in Colorado you can not use a two way radio when hunting big game like deer.Am I jealous no I've taken my fare share of good deer but dam it do it right.If your going to write a story be careful what you put in it because it might come back and bite you in the butt....just my thought's on this any one else?

Actually BigB we've had this discussion b4 and I lost. This is all it says in the 2015 big game regs. I completely agree with you but I can't tell where colorado parks and wildlife stands on the ussue. If you've got better info share it with us.

First of all, I wouldn't trust that "lawyer" as far as I could throw her. Even her interpretation of the law she quoted was not just shaky, but I thought completely wrong.
The problem is that having the walkie talkie isn't illegal. Using the walkie talkie isn't illegal either, unless it somehow increases your abilities to harvest a target animal.
If a guy says that his buddy directed him to an animal, then the ,use of the walkies was illegal and it looks like he stands to pay a hefty fine of $200. For a 225" buck... um, yeah. that isn't even a slap on the wrist.

As far as the regulations go, I don't see where it would be illegal to use them. Most Wrist Watches are electronic devices (ever used an electronic clock to make sure you were in place at the right time?), flashlights, some wind indicators, a camera, some scopes and sights, range finders, etc. never heard of anyone getting busted for using and electronic rangefinder. Basically it goes like this according to the warden in my area. Its up to the discretion of the warden if it constitutes harassment or whatever you want to define it as. The warden in my Unit and the other warden in a sister Unit don't care. IN their opinion, its no different than using hand signals from spotter to the hunter. We all know that's a big tactic nowadays all over the west...

As the quoted law reads, it is only illegal if engaged in taking the animal illegally ie: Poaching, out of season, etc. Taking the species stated on the tag within the time frame on the tag with the proper weapon allowed for the season is not illegal. It looks to me like the use of electronic radios is perfectly legal as long as everything else is in order. All it seems to be is something else they can tack on to a charge when caught for something else.
