A buddy of mine and I were taking a break from packing out an elk from the Smith Creek drainage when a game cop stopped to check us out. We got to talking and he was telling us about catching 7-10 pound rainbows in Spirit Lake with a Roostertail. He said that the fish in there were amazing and he and his partner were catching really nice fish on every cast. I would love to take my kids fishing there but I doubt that they will ever open it to the public.
