LAST EDITED ON Nov-14-14 AT 03:04PM (MST)[p]I went through SLC in late OCT. As soon as I left Bangerter and got on I-15, I set the cruise on 65. I was passed by 87 vehicles between Bangerter HWY and the turnoff to Highway 6 headed to Price.

Never came close to overtaking another vehicle.

I can handle 70 or even 80 mph when there is a straight flat stretch of freeway with no cars within a 100 or so yards of me. It's when the traffic is 70-80 and near bumper to bumper, passing, zigging in and out between lanes, that freaks me out and i want or will have no part of.

Driving thru middle Utah was bad enough at 55+. I can't imagine it raised up to 70 so 80+ will be the norm.

By raising the speed limit from 65 to 70, in effect what they are doing is raising it from 75 to 80. They can call it whatever they want.

Thanks for the heads up Roy, but it will have no effect on me. I made my last trip through there in September.

Heard on the radio that UDOT wants to raise it because people already go that fast.
I'm sure folks will stick right at 70 if they do raise it...

Bess! You got to slow it down Buddy! Running a rig, heavy like you got it, that fast all the time and not on the best of roads,.. that's like rolling the dice that something could happen to you not so good!

Lets keep you around Bud! Be thankful you got away with it this long and Slow that rig down.
