Too bad about the dogs. Sounds like the moose was just being an a$$hole. I encountered 2 different rutting bulls in one day grouse hunting on foot in alaska. Neither one charged but both were displaying their head gear swaying it back and forth grunting had to shoot in the air after the bigger of the 2 of them got within 20 feet.

Also, I wondered if she could actually hit something with her .380. At that close range, seems as if it sure would have given Bullwinkle a big headache.

I barely avoided the same thing as I was completing the last leg of the Iditarod in 1986.
