If you put in the time you should have a decent chance at a respectable bull. This is anecdotal but it sure seems to me that moose numbers are significantly down over the last few years. I live in 67 and hunt the unit every year. I believe if you check with IDFG they will verify a downward trend in numbers. Many will attribute this to wolves, but we don't have a lot of wolves in 67 yet. Another factor is some kind of arterial parasite that has definitely reduced numbers in western WY, and is known to be present in eastern ID moose as well. A biologist at IDFG told me that it is hard to definitively attribute specific mortality cases to this cause, but they know it is happening. I heard about 3 separate bulls that were found dead in 66 this year, with no apparent injuries, one of which was still barely alive when found. Might be good to get your moose now in case the trend continues. Mountain man accounts from the early 1800s almost never mentioned moose sightings in the northern rockies - makes you wonder. Good luck if you draw.
