moose/caribou combo hunt

I'm looking for a good moose/caribou combo hunt for 2006. If anyone can refer a reputable outfit, please let me know. Either Alaska or Canada will do! Thanks a bunch in advance!

I'm up to whatever. If you or any other MM members want to hook up and go together, maybe we can get a group package. Like I mentioned, I'm looking to go for 2006, so that gives us plenty of time to look of an outfitter and get price quotes and see if others want to go. But it would be cool to get some more folks involved. If you want to go, maybe we can get together over the phone or thru e-mails and get something coordinated. Let me know what you think.

I'm heading out in Sept. for Alaska. A buddy and I are going on a 50 mile remote float trip for moose, caribou and black bear. The main focus will be for the moose though. It's going to be a twelve day hunt, and the price is pretty reasonable. I keep hearing that unguided moose hunts are going to become a thing of the past in the near future (does that make any damn sense?). So I would do it as soon as possible.

I have interest in doing a same type of hunt in the future. Do you mind telling me what river and area you found to be good for this type of hunt? Have you been doing a lot of research for this type of hunt?

I've been planning this hunt for two years. The outfitter I went with was Adventures in the Wild. http://www.adventuresinthewild.com
Dave Mason runs it, and he's been great to deal with. After talking to tons of outfitters, he was the one who seemed to put the most work into the unguided hunts. My hunt will be on the Aniak River. I talked to a lot of people who thought this was one of the better areas. It will be a 50 mile, 12 day float, and most of the hunting will be done about 1 mile from the river. It's going to be one tough hunt, but a lot of fun.

I've gone on a Caribou and Moose hunt in northern Alaska out of Kotzebue and had a great trip. We both got two caribou and took a 63" and a 64" inch Moose. We literally saw thousands of Caribou on our trip and probably a dozen moose with 4-5 over 60 inches. The fishing was great for grayling and the outfitter was outstanding. I went back last spring for black bear out of Seward with the same outfitter and had another great trip. Feel free to email me if anyone would like more info. [email protected]
