I drew the big fat ZERO as usual! Anybody get lucky??

I know a guy that drew goat, he drew moose last year!!!

Go figure!

Ernie: We went 0 for 4 again, but my friend drew a non-res 312 goat tag. Any info you can divulge? Thought about calling Larry Altimus as I helped his moose hunters the last 3 years. Joel

That was really evil the way the web site shows "successful" until you scroll down and see that you were not. For a brief moment I had the feeling I was going sheep hunting.

Yeah, that really sucked. Luckily, someone warned me or I would have had thee "Big One" right in front of my computer! Took 15 years in 4 states to get my first one; I may have used up all that luck I had.

o for 3 again this year, getting the points up though. My old mad drew his goat tag though. anybody else here residents?

Nope, Thank God. I would have had to go out and buy another freezer. One moose will be good enough for me this year. : )

I dont know that area at all Joel, sorry. I do hear there are lots of goats there though.

I'm a resident Randy.

ive actually camped and fished quite a bit on wise river, alot of nice mule deer in that area. the area my dad drew in was 323, its right near gardiner.

WELL I WAS VERY BLESSED A DREW A MOOSE TAG FOR AREA 102, AND I DREW A GOAT TAG FOR AREA 329. I TOOK A FRIEND HUNTING IN 329 LAST YEAR AND HE KILLED A NICE 8 YEAR OLD BILLY. I HAVE NEVER HUNTED 102 FOR MOOSE BUT I AM GOING OVER MAPS AND HAVE A FEW SCOUTING TRIPS PLANNED. ANY ADVICE OR TIPS FOR EITHER HUNT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I also drew an area 329 tag (nonres). Any opinions on timing as far as hair quality. I will be in the area after a September elk hunt- wondering if I'd be better off making that a scouting trip and coming back to hunt later in the season.

I just got my Montana goat back and it has incredible hair. I shot it on November 1st. I've seen goats shot the first week to the middle of October and they are almost bald compared to mine. If I could do it all over again, I'd wait til after the 1st of November and then hit it hard, depending on the weather of course. A lot of times the weather is mild towards the end of November. Just watch the weather. A bald goat isn't pretty in my book, so just wait and scout. Also, make sure you are in great shape and expect to spend a few nights out.
