Hey everyone,
I got a letter from the Pentagon today, telling me about a program that pays $500 a month for every month you were held past your original separation date because of 9-11. It covers that date through September 30, 2009. After digging out my DD214 and retirement orders, it's looking like I should be eligible for 4 months. Times are tough and every little bit helps. Here's some websites to pass along to anyone you know that may not have heard about this. The deadline to apply is OCTOBER 21, 2010 so there's not much time! I believe it's for active and guard/reserve. Family members can also apply on behalf of deceased service members.
