While at an antique military sale a person noticed a nice presentation pistol in a box...
The box was engraved...;

"Co. Reunion...March 25,1925"...
To Captain Rollin Hawkins...
For his Brave, Daring Leadership During World War One...
From the Men of Able Company...

What would convince the buyer this was a fake...???...

LAST EDITED ON Oct-16-16 AT 08:24PM (MST)[p]No, they had A B C, etc, Companies in WWI

Good guess though.

The First World War was known as the 'Great War' or what it would have been referred to in an A Co. reunion in 1925 is my guess. Referring to 'WWI' or 'WWII' probably didn't come into popularity or reference until the 1940's.
