I myself have not seen him this year, nor has anybody else in the 'Valley (that I know of). The thing is, we know he was atleast 9 1/2 years old last winter so he was deffinately getting up there. Compared last year's NT side to the year before's NT side and he definately regressed (still grossed 190" though). Seen a lot of bucks this winter, just none of the monsters that we saw the year before.

Thats too bad, he was a great buck. Good luck, thanks for the reply.

No problem, I'm curious to see if he is out there still however. A member here on MM.com contacted me in late November and said he'd seen "my" buck the last day of the general rifle season up one "helacious canyon" just after he'd tagged out on a smaller buck. I asked for a little more details but never got a reply. If he made it through the general season, then I think there's a good chance he made it through the late season as a friend of mines family owns a couple thousand acres above where he winters so I don't think a late season hunter could've gotten to him either...

To Michael J:

How do you know its 9 1/2 years old? You would think if its that old it would be going way down hill. If it is just now starting to regress wouldnt you think it would be a six or seven year old deer?

buckhound, hows it going?
As of a year ago my buddy has known a guy that watched this buck for approx. 5 years as a mature buck on the same winter range. So even if you start him as a 4 1/2 year old buck, that would mean last year he was 9 1/2 years old, and this year would've been 10 1/2...
