I've never used them because Idaho doesn't allow them. But what is your opinion about mechanical broadheads? It stands to reason that they would fly straighter, without having the wind resistence of the blades. How about performance? Any failures? Do they kill effectively? Do you get consistant pass throughs? I would be willing to begin lobbying the F&G commission if the performance is superior to fixed broadheads. Any opinions?

i think mechanicals are very good. i say this because ive never had a problem with them before. they fly well and i think if you hit them in the right spot with anything youll killem. ive always had pass through's with them. i use the family broadhead VORTEX, my whole family and most of our friends use them. you should be able to find them @ your local archery shop or hunting stores. i use the VORTEX steel 75 grn and ive never ever had a problem with them and they leave BIG holes n em so they dont go very far and they leave a good blood trail for you.

good luck with whatever you choose.
