McGregor Oryx

Here is the oryx I harvested on Saturday morning on the McGregor Range hunt. Scouted around Thurs/Fri and saw a few oryx. Saturday we spotted this one at 9:30 and I put on some miles getting into position. Got to within bow range and put down this 36 inch cow. A big thanks to Kevin (khart) for all the help and the offers he made that I didn't have to take him up on. That is what this site is all about.

I checked this one in at about 13:00 and it was the 5th checked in that day, 2 others were checking out as I was leaving. Don't know how the other 43 tag holders did, but was told it wasn't as good as last years success.

Congrats on a real nice Oryx! I'm glad you filled your tag. It was a pleasure meeting you, your dad & friend. NMPaul & I were with PAblackbear when he harvested his cow the same morning. Maybe he'll post the pics w/ story soon (hint).--Kevin

Thanks for the compliments guys. I am really happy with the way the pic turned out. My family has been cursed with poor photos since the inception of the modern camera (dark/poor light, out of focus, subject not fully in frame, too far away, too close, someone blinking, not smiling, looking away...). Maybe the curse has been broken!
