McCall Zone

Just curious if anybody is hunting the McCall Zone for elk in a couple weeks? I was just up there around the Cascade area scouting and I was kind of disappointed that they were not talking yet. Has anybody heard them talking around that area yet?

Dont be suprized if they dont talk for atleast a couple of more weeks.

Don't be real suprised if they don't talk at all.The last couple of years sometimes all you would get is just an answer but if you do get an answer hold tight as they have beem coming in silent

they bugled their brains out when i was there 3 years ago! it was mid/late september before they got hot tho.

i heard a lone bugle at 2:35 am last night. way too early for too much excitement. in the mccall zone

Don't get me wrong the Mccall zone is a great zone I grew up in that area and know most of it like the back of my hand.I just haven't had great luck for the last 3 years with bugling bulls. I have had a lot of bulls answer once and come in dead silent.

That's what I thought. I got busted a couple of years ago on a silent bull. Thanks for your info.
