Hi, I have been looking at a used Q2XL. I was wondering if anyone has used this bow? Good bad? Its in good shape and loaded up with a quiver, sight, rest ect. Any Ideas what it might be worth? Thanks Ken
I used to own one and then I updated to a newer bow when it was 2 years old. I do this every 2 years. I wish I'd never gotten rid of it. I've heard others say they think it was one of Mathews best bows ever too. For the bare bow I wouldn't pay more than $350 and that's if it's in excellent shape. price after that depends on what accessories are on it.
I have owned the Q2XL since it came out, and I love it. It is smooth, easy pull, and shoots itself. I do a lot of backyard practice with 3D targets and love chasin them desert mulies. I have thought about getting a drenalin or a new hoyt...but just can't justify it. Currently have an adjustable trophy ridge sight on it and am going to go to sight pins..probably a spott hogg. Seems everyone has nothing but good things to say about the sight. Good luck trying to locate one...I wouldn't sell mine for $500.
I bought a Q2XL about 7 years ago, great bow, I still have it and use it as my backup since I bought a Switchback. Great bow, I think the $350 is a good idea of price if its setup with accessories. Check the string and cams and make sure they are in good shape.
To this day, the Q2XL is one of the best bows Mathews ever produced. Its built for forgiveness, and still generates great speed. I would love to see them bring this model back updated with a new cam system.
I shot the Q2XL for about three years and it is a nice bow,350 sounds about right. I sold the XL and bought a Switchback XT because I wanted a short bow.Personaly I like the shorter, smoother XT better, but both are really good bows.
Q2XL was a great bow, however, depending on what that price includes I think you could go on Archery Talk and pick one up for around $250--that bow hasn't been in production for about 5 years..... I'd also recommend that you look at the CR337 made by Ross Archery, quality is every bit as good (if not better, sorry Matt fan boys) and this bow is CURRENLT in production. I have absolutely nothing against Mathews, I've owned several over the years: MQ32,Q2,LX,and an Ovation.....
Ditto here! I owned a Q2XL for about three years and it was one of the best-shooting bows I ever owned. I also owned a Ross CR337 for over a year and, as noted above, it is one very fine bow. Everything about the Ross is top quality. I now shoot Mathews Apex bows (finger shooter - one for hunting, one for target/3D) for a local shop, but you'll never hear me badmouth Ross.
