I recently found the matching side (making a set) elk antler, from a 330 class bull. Not huge by other area standards, but a rather nice set coming from Oregon. I had found the right side about 3 springs ago and never did find the match. I was recently working in a burned area, about 1/4 mile from where I found the right side, I stumbled across the matching left side!!! The bummer is that it is pretty chalky, kind of chewed up, and slightly burned from the fire!!! It was shed in an area that was thick with Manzanita brush and never would have been found if the fire hadn't taken out the brush. I had found the other side tucked under the foliage of a thick juniper tree with only the white base giving it away. The main beams on these antlers are 53".
Sorry guys but I don't have the equipment or photos to show, but I do enjoy looking at everyone elses photos. We only have a few more months to go untill the peak season!!!
