These are the sheds from the famed Buck of Justice. Although time
has passed since their discovery, I thought I post this pic of the
incredible sheds mounted. Looks awesome.

What a beast! Wouldn't that have been sweet to find those, you'd need a pack mule to get them out! If you found them I guess you could find a way without a mule :) They must weigh 4-6lbs each though. Thanks for posting those, helps me get through the long winter!

Hey Eldorado, I know that masked man behind those massive horns. If you are the same person that is in that picture send me a PM. You should remember me, We taught together in Monroe, before I moved to Wyoming. I often think of the hunts we made together, and the buck your Dad and brother chased to the low country, where you and I tracked him down. That was a great day!

One of my favorite bucks ever... Im all about WIDE and HEAVY. That buck is a true jaw dropper and is the definition of wall appeal. Id kill that buck over a 28" 220 net typical 7 days a week and twice on sunday.

I know the guy who found the first and last sets of this buck(2 different guys), and yes I'm envious of both of them.

Here is what I know, and keep in mind this is like 3rd hand info so I may not have all the details correct.

A man who now lives in St. George found the first couple of sets. I am friends with his son. The story goes, He and his brother were flying in a very remote area where they had seen some great bucks, and he spotted one of the sheds. From the air he could tell that it was a good shed. So he and his brother went into the area to try to find the shed. The area was so nasty they all but repelled into it. He found the shed that they spotted and was astounded at the mass and size. His brother found the other shed the same day. They ended up finding 3 full sets in this area, but never saw the buck live. He now has a full body mount of the buck at his house.

The man who found the last set of the buck of justice is a man named D. Shirley who use to live in my neighborhood. He drew a desert bighorn tag and spent 16 days in the remote area looking for sheep. In his travels he came upon the last set of sheds from this buck. Not far from the sheds was the dead buck with huge holes where the sheds detached. I have held the last set and they are INSANE huge.

So some time later the guy from St George sees pics that D. shirley took of the last set in the field and recognizes the area. He goes into the area and finds the skull and now has the skull with the huge posts for the sheds.
I'm sure the I am wrong about some of the info, however I know that I am in the ballpark

i have seen them many times before and they always amaze me. i find it more amazing that no body ever claimed to see the buck alive.
does any body know how the name buck of justice came about???

Some politico hack over in the political forum, who happened to be running for mayor in Escalante, UT said the buck was actually named for David Justice. Justice was a pro baseball player for the Atlanta Braves and loved to hunt the 50 mile in UT. His nickname was "Buck of Justice". Hence the name

Between Randy pictured above, his brother, Dennis, and Jeremy, there have been 7 1/2 sets from this buck. the 1st set found by Jeremy Cox is shown in this pic at bottom right. He also has a single from a previous year. The brothers then found 4 sets and I think 2 singles, followed by Dennis' last set shown top right. The largest set scores 282 and isthe top left

Big bucks live where they can be seen... but its a well known fact that the biggest world class bucks live in the deepest darkest most extreme country there is.

Thats bad a$$ Well over a thousand inches of bone in that pic Thanks for posting that one

Amazing to me this buck must have been like a ghost...seems to me with all the eyes, trail cams, optics, cameras, etc. someone would have at least caught a few glimpses over the few years of his life. One monster buck!

Hey Yelum, didn't they find the skull from the buck too after it'd already shed. Had massive holes and that's how they put it together? I don't think anyone saw him on the hoof, but I could be wrong.

Bayside, see post 10

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

Heres a pic of the skull I found on the internet.

Killshot,
Thats my picture I took at the second annual Antlerfest in 2005. I've posted it before. Thanks for digging it up. The picture above of the 4 bucks was taken the same year. Randy was gracious enough to bring several of his mounts abnd sheds, along with the skull to the show.

Just curious other than tree trunk size does any one have the mass measurements of this brute
