Manfrotto 701HDV vs. 501HDV plate question?

Manfrotto 701HDV vs. 501HDV plate question?
I got a 501HDV and wondered if the plate on it is the same as on the 501HDV. It would really simplify things for me if they were interchangeable.
I use a 501 on my video camera and thought I would get a 701 to go on a muddy camera arm as well as using it on a tripod for a spotting scope when I need one.

Yes, both take the same plate (501PL)
