M-100 or Trophy Cam

I am in the market to get a few cameras and I am thinking getting either an M-100 by Moultrie (6mp) or a Bushnell Trophy Cam (8mp). Both are 2011 models I believe.

I doubt too many people have used the M-100, but I know people have used the Trophy cams on this site.

Please comment and post pictures.

Thanks,

Dillon Hoyt

I'm also looking at these cameras. I've spent a lot of time looking at a few reviews on these two sites.

Here's the review for the Bushnell:

And here's the review for the Moultrie:

Another camera I'm looking at that you might also be interested in is the Stealth Cam Archer's Choice. Just something to think about...
Here's the review on the Stealth Cam:

Hope that helps you out a little bit...

I use the trophy cams and love them! Couldnt ask for a better camera, and they are light to pack wherever you are taking them. The only other camera I would consider would be the Covert brand.

Have you ever had problems with the Trophy Cam pictures at night? Judging from the camera test it almost seems like they take short distance IR photos at night. Any comments?

I emailed that Trailcampro.com guy and this is what he said...
"Thanks for contacting us. Out of all the cameras that you suggested, the Bushnell would have the fastest trigger speed but the 2010 are no longer available. The new 2011 cameras retail for $199.95 which is well above the $150 mark you stated below. Even if you can find some 2010 models available, I would be careful because there were a lot of issues with runaway cameras last year. These cameras take pictures continuously without being triggered until the card is full or the batteries die. I would suggest taking a look at the new Moultrie M-80. It retails for $149.95 and has a trigger speed about a second faster than your D-55IRs. They take good day and night photos and the flash range is excellent for a camera its size. We do not have a full review up yet, but if you take a look at the Moultrie M-100 you can get a good idea of the features it has and the pictures it is capable of taking. The only difference between the M-100 and M-80 is the camo case and the built in viewer. If you have any other questions or would like to place an order please feel free to let me know."

I love the trophy cam. It's been my third, forth, fifth and even sixth, eye for the past few years now. Might even add another one to the arsenal this year. I have no complaints. They take great pictures when I want them too... what else do I need?
I haven't had the need to go to any other camera, so i can't really vouch for the moultri one, but it looks like a great camera too.

I have some of the best pictures from last year season posted on my blog, so you can browse through them if you'd like. I did shrink them down for fast web loading, but I'm sure you can imagine them in all they're 8mp of glory. http://rockyhunting.blogspot.com/2010/07/spotting-week-6-july-9.html

As far as night pictures go, it takes them just fine. I don't have a lot to show off cause I like the day time ones a whole lot better, but as far and studying patterns ect. it'll take all the pictures you want and visibility is decent even at a distance. You'll see that in a couple of the pictures I posted.
