Someone with a camera was in the right spot yesterday on our local beaches, photographing the angry ocean. This was very close to search and recovery operation.

Two people south of here were swept off the rocks two days ago. They're still searching for the bodies.

That photo makes my skin crawl. A friend of mine was swept from the Santa Cruz harbor breakwater three decades ago. Another managed to hold onto the light post and survived. The guilt he felt changed his life. Stay off the damn rocks unless you're a limpet.
