No injuries after 2 Black Hawk helicopters go down near Snowbird

National Guard officials say quick reaction and training helped prevent anyone from being injured after two Black Hawk helicopters were involved in an accident while training in the Mineral Basin area near Snowbird on Tuesday.

The most scared I've ever been was not my two helo crashes, but my almost Seahawk crash. I could hear the rotor sound change pitch and I knew the main rotor was icing up. Same part of the country, we got caught in a snowstorm.

If those guys discussed whiteout/brownout, which I doubt, they certainly did not execute the recovery plan. At Fallon we planned for it, and even induced brown out conditions just to gain experience at recovery.
