Losing Points

I know this is a stupid question and i think i know the answer but was unable to find the answer on the ODfG website.
Will You lose your points if you don't put in for a year or two or ten or one hundred?

"Hunter will NOT forfeit their preference points if they do not apply for a hunt series for two or more consecutive years. Preference points remain in the system until they are redeemed."

I guess that is a good thing and a bad thing. It used to be two years...they done away with that.
