HAVE YOU EVER BEEN GUILTY OF LOOKING AT OTHERS YOUR OWN AGE AND THINKING, "SURELY I CAN'T LOOK THAT OLD."
WELL...
YOU'LL LOVE THIS ONE.

MY NAME IS ALICE SMITH AND I WAS SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT WITH A NEW DENTIST. I NOTICED HIS DDS DIPLOMA, WHICH BORE HIS FULL NAME.

SUDDENLY, I REMEMBERED A TALL, HANDSOME, DARK-HAIRED BOY WITH THE SAME NAME HAD BEEN IN MY HIGH SCHOOL CLASS SOME 40-ODD YEARS AGO. COULD HE BE THE SAME GUY THAT I HAD A SECRET CRUSH ON, WAY BACK THEN? UPON SEEING HIM, HOWEVER, I QUICKLY DISCARDED ANY SUCH THOUGHT.

THIS BALDING, GRAY-HAIRED MAN WITH THE DEEPLY LINED FACE WAS WAY TOO OLD TO HAVE BEEN MY CLASSMATE. AFTER HE EXAMINED MY TEETH, I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD ATTENDED MORGAN PARK HIGH SCHOOL

"YES. YES, I DID. I'M A MUSTANG," HE GLEAMED WITH PRIDE.

"WHEN DID YOU GRADUATE?" I ASKED.

HE ANSWERED, "IN 1959. WHY DO YOU ASK?"

"YOU WERE IN MY CLASS!" I EXCLAIMED.

HE LOOKED AT ME CLOSELY. THEN, THAT UGLY, OLD, BALD WRINKLED, FAT, GRAY, DECREPIT SON-OF-A-##### ASKED,
"WHAT DID YOU TEACH?"

LOL Too funny! My mom was at the V.A. Hospital w/my dad not too long ago and looked across the room and started watching this old man shuffle across the room. He looked downtrodden and sad and just really old. My mom poked my dad in the ribs and said, "Oh how sad. Look at that old man."

When the man looked in their direction she recognized his face. Sure enough...he had graduated with her in 1969. LOL Hee hee hee

I was just talking with my wife about this subject. One thing we said was it seems like every place we go into the people working their don't look like they their even out of high school. We had a parent/teacher conference with one of our kid's teachers and when it was over I said to my wife "I wonder if he had permission from his mother to be here". Her reply was "we're getting old".
