Hi, I just picked up a Genesis pro for my 10 year old daughter. She is really excited about shooting. I have been letting her use my old arrows that I used 20 years ago when I was into bows. My question is should I take her and the bow into a shop and get new arrow?s that are sized correctly? Would anyone recommend sights for a beginner? Any advice would be appreciated I have been out of the sport for along time. Thanks Ken

The Genesis pro is a great beginners bow. The best way to pick an arrow is to download the Easton shaft selector on their web site. www.eastonarchery.com. You put in the draw weight and arrow length, and it recommends the shafts that fit the bow. use the YOUTH tab.

My 8 year old shoots a PSE F-18 Sight on her Genesis.. I would recommend one with a level though for just a few dollars more. It was the best value at the pro shop I went to.

But the pro shop guys will be the best resource. heck, this is their job....

Good shooting

Yes, get some arrows that are the right length for her and spined correctly. Go simple with sights.

I would look at the Falcon arrows from Gold Tip. They are very reasonably priced, as well as being VERY durable. They also have another shaft called the Lightning.

Hey there littlebuck.

My 10 year old daughter shoots the genesis with sites and a release. She loves it. IMO, start them out with all the bells and whistles as long as they can hold the string back. My daughter shoots the graphite arrows that are made for the little bows. They are really inexpensive and she shoots the same 6 arrows she has had for over a year now. Other than camping, she doesn't shoot anywhere to lose them. Good luck and great job at getting your kids involved with archery. Try taking them to a 3D shoot sometime. They will love it.
