Finally found the missing side less than 5 feet from where I found the rest of the skull. Snow finally melted enough to uncover the missing piece.

Matt found the match to a shed we found last year. Nice to see a young buck with big double droppers eh?

Here's the matriarch of a group of five whiteys we saw. Rare site for the area.

thats some pretty nice antler there. Was that head lion killed of was it winter killed. what state are you in? if you dont mind

Droptine,
I'm from south-central British Columbia. I don't think this buck died from a cougar or a wolf. There are no teeth marks on the skull. Must have broke it while fighting is all I can think and then died of infection. I found the skull side over a month ago and have been back to the same spot over five times now looking for the missing piece. I had even kicked snow around trying to get down to ground level. Finally yesterday the antler was melted out enough for me to see. Here is a pic of the break.

DK,
He is a really interesting rack. Very narrow. Only 19 inch inside spread and 23 outside to his cheater. Looked like he was wanting to grow a dropper on the side I found yesterday. It's all messed up in that area. He grosses just shy of 190 NT.
