Leupold scopes

i recently picked up a VX-II 3-9x40 for $309 and now i found a leupold rifleman 3-9x40 for $269. whats the difference in scopes? in the store the rifleman looked clear and everything else is the same shock and fogproof, coated lens, warranty. is this and old model or whats the deal, i was thinking of picking it up as a spare what do you think?
