Leupold on weatherby?

I am looking at putting the vx-3l 4.5-14x50mm with the cds on my weatherby mark v in the 30-378 caliber. But I heard from one review that a guy had to put offset bases and high rings on to make it fit which defeats the purpose of the cutout of the scope. Has anyone used this scope on a mark v. And any info on this scope versus the huskemaw lr would be helpful also.

Mark Thompson puts together hundreds of these a year, shoot him an email or give him a call. I have the same set up but have his custom leupold scope on the gun and don't have any problems.
