I am interested in buying a new scope for long range shooting. I was wondering if I could get some help in selecting a new scope. Can I get some opinions on this scope and maybe some others that would be good for long range shooting. I have around 1,000 + - to spend so I thought this scope would be around the upper end of my limit. I was looking for something around a 6.5 x 20 power range.

I use a mark4 3.5x10 with the m3 knobs. you dont need 20x to shoot to a 1000yds. the m3 knobs are 1mil on elevation & 1/2 mil on windage. with 1mil elevation you can adjust to a 1000yds with less than one turn on the knob. It keeps it simple. I bought one on snipershide in august for 850$ shipped. When shooting at 1000yds you must factor in mirage. If your scope is real high power & you have alot of mirage, you will have a hard time hitting your target.
