I am looking at buying a new Leupold scope with the CDS system. Would you guys choose the vx3 4.5x14x40 with 1" tube, or the vx-r 4x12x40 with 30mm tube and illuminated reticle? I didn't realize the 30mm tube gave you more windage and elevation adjustment until reading about these scope. Does any one know how much more the 30mm does add? And is 1" really limited at all out to a 1000yds in elevation adjustments.

You have the information highway at your fingertips. Do your own research and you will have the information first hand.

with the smaller one, as you move up that high (1000) you pass over the "0" mark and do a full rotation of the knob if that makes sense. then you have to remember to come all the way back around and not just back the few clicks to "O"
thats one of the big differences and yes high far the marks will go up to.
