I purchased a rifle last week, mostly because of the scope. It was a used Rem Mdl 700 7MM in good shape except for cosmetic external marks on the stock and barrel. It came with the Leupold VXIII, 4.5-14 in 50MM with the AO ring in the front. The cost for the whole rig was $700. I figured the gun would make the good starting point for a custom rifle, though it currently shoots right at 1MOA and that's only trying my current handload using 160 Grain Accubonds. My reasoning was I figured I didn't need to allow for alot of value on the rifle since I was going to have to spend about $500+ to buy this scope(which is exactly what I was looking for).
What do you think the scope alone was worth.
