A buck I call Labotomy. I don't know what killed him. Thinking he may have bust his skull while fighting. Took me a month to find his match even though it was less than 5 feet away buried under the snow. This buck grosses 190 NT and was found spring 2005.
I found this skull and antlers north of Yellowstone Park in 1987. It had been dead a long time the critters ate some of the tines and was covered in lichen. I scraped, sanded and use an antler repair kit, than I stained the antlers and painted the skull white. I've found some old and crusted antlers in this area, there were some big bucks there forty years ago, but rare to see anything this size these days. Outside spread is 30 inches and 20 inches tall.

This one belongs to a student of my wife. He found it on my timber company's property so he brought it by to show me. It's a pretty neat looking skull.
