LAST EDITED ON Mar-13-12 AT 09:24PM (MST)[p] Now that A,I shed hunt is over. I was out last week and seen a few buck still packing I was thinking it was early. Didn't go my self. But would like to see what everybody found wonder if I seen them before they dropped.

I think a bunch were poached before it even started. Too bad for the guys that play by the rules.

I seen a few 150 class bucks and picked up one myself.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-14-12 AT 07:36AM (MST)[p]I was out there the first day. Lightning did not strike twice for me! All I found was about a 20" 4pt brown single. Last year we were the second name drawn. This year we were 6th. It didn't do us much good this year being drawn early because the gate was closed for the first part and we couldn't get where we wanted to be. It may have payed off to get drawn a bit later! I was glad to see they cut it off this year at 100. Last year they did not. We had 2 guys in our group who did not get drawn, but thats the chance you take.

From what I saw most guys had a tough go out there this year. Its a little weird. My guess is there were people getting to them first, be it picking up the whites during the hunts. Or just sneaking out there befor the open day.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-14-12 AT 09:44AM (MST)[p]I had a great time and met some cool guys. My wife and I drew 85th, and were beat to a set we had watched drop. We did get the other shed I had seen drop, but it was a close call as a horse guy rode right over it and swbuckmaster kept blocking my buddy's path. :)

Another guy found the match to mine, and we're hooking up soon to get pics of the set.

Palehorse, this set might be your buck. Had the same squirly right beam on the 2 point side, bases, and look. Just had some new stuff.

Kateraxl, I would love to see your set side by side with mine. are you in the salt lake valley? I think Larry has a point. Could be the same buck?

LAST EDITED ON Mar-14-12 AT 10:48AM (MST)[p]It would be cool to meet up one day and check them out! Hows the mass on your set? The buck I found last year is over 7.5 on his first measurement. He also had one eyeguard that tuner backward. Did you have anything like that?
 
Right at 7 inches on both sides and yes he has an eye guard that goes backwards lol that would be way cool to get them together

Is yours still basically a 2pt frame on the right side? How wide do you figure he is? That is definately a gagger buck! Now that I think about it my buck has those same little holes in the antlers. One of them still has a piece of wood stuck in it!

I agree with you 100%!!! I spoke with an unammed individual who stated he was a part of a back country horse crew that "patroled" the Island. They were on the West side a week ago and he witnessed these guys "stash" several horns! He said he didn't participate, and didn't feel right about it. Pretty sad that those of us that "waited", and paid our $50 bucks, got screwed. I talked to alot of pissed off guys, with crusty white horns. It was pretty bad!
 
Figured about 38 and yeah just a giant two point on his right rough scored him at 223
 
Huh, I really need to see those side by side at some point! I would not hesitate to drop the hammer on a buck like that ANYWHERE! I was guessin mine to be around 35" wide. I really figured the set I had the buck was on the down hill slide. I figured the Tine length was receeding and he was putting on mass instead. Guess I was wrong!
 
I didn't fair so well either I found a dead end 30inch four point I'm going to have to repair, it was 30 yards from the shore and a dead head sheep, they said I could keep it but I told them to keep it so they could do research on it, I picked up a set 3 years ago everyone that sees it swears it is the 38 special buck taken this last year so I've picked up one decent set but like palehorse lightning didn't strike twice for me
 
Elkun Id believe it out there its kind of shady out there. We got pretty lucky and found one real hot spot

from what i hear through the mm grapevine somehow Denny and team Moss-back fooled the bucks into holding their horns till next year so that Denny can kill the new world record !! hope i draw the tag too!!
