damn you yoyak. you have meet all of my goals haha. I want to try to get to pope in young my first year this year.

also, I see the FMJ's on your bow. You still use those? you like them?

im looking at getting carbon express maxxima hunters and fletching them myself with blazers or fusions

Pope and young is only 145 so finding one shouldn't be too hard, but putting an arrow in one is another story. Good luck.

The FMJ's are okay, not wild about the HIT inserts. They are kinda heavy...11.3 grains per inch I think on the 340's. They were okay with that Matthews I was shooting at 70 lbs. When I started shooting my Elite which is 80lbs I had to switch to 300 spine arrows, went with the GoldTip Kinetic XT.

One thing nice about the FMJ's is they pull out of targets real nice.

well the cabelas stalker extremes i have (4 of them haha) are 9.3 and the carbon express ones i want are 8.9gpi im not really thrilled about the camo on them though, id rather not have camo arrows but what can you do. Im shooting a 70lb bow at 300fps with the carbon express.

archery is all new to me, last year i killed my buck at 400 yards with a rifle and shoot coyotes and chucks at over 500. Im learning all the bow stuff now haha. See if i cant make the 145 mark or higher my first year alone.

My goal was 145" or better this year as well, however, being it my first year living in Idaho and first year hunting Muley's I wasn't quite sure what to look for in a buck. I know my whitetails and that helped out a bit, but when I saw the buck I ended up shooting I figured he would be pretty close.. I was 9" shy. I am still elated to have arrowed a mature mule deer with spot and stalk methods and wouldn't trade him for one 9" bigger. Next year will be here before I know it and I can try again.

About the FMJ's... They are great arrows, I used them for a year back east in Kansas for whitetails and they did phenomenal, however; they can bend because they are aluminum on the outside... That said, if you trip or fall while hiking around and they bend it can ruin your hunt.

I shot my bear and my first muley in Sept with the Kinetics and they are awesome arrows! Pricy, but awesome! Nice and heavy just like the FMJ's but all carbon!

Good luck on your hunt Nick, your going to love this archery stuff! Just don't be that guy taking 70+ yard shots if you can't do it, I met one of those on the mountain this past week and he was bragging about it, then he wounded a deer and did it again the next day, makes me sick.

Good luck!!
