Looking to get into bow hunting with my wife. Looking for recommendations of a bow for each of us. We've never shot before so just looking for brand recommendations.

thanks !!

This would be a great bow for women. My wife tried it out a few days ago. With in 10 minutes she was grouping arrows in a 4 inch circle at 15 yards without pins and she has never shot a bow before. The bow is very smooth to shoot and light. If you are in the Salt lake area I might be able to get you a pretty good deal just pm me if you are interested. By the way this bow retails for around $329.00

As for you The switch back is an incredible bow for hunting.

I wouldn't be too set on specific brand names right out the gate, as most major manufacturers produce quality bows at different levels and price range. My suggestion would be to visit a local pro-shop and shoot ALL the bows you can from the various manufacturers. (Hoyt, Mathews, Bowtech, Martin, PSE, etc.) Pick one that not only shoots good for you, but also feels "right" in your hand and on the draw. VERY important feature that is often over-shadowed by the heavy advertising in today's archery world. Good luck and have fun.

I agree with BOHUNTR pick one that fits you not just a commercial see your local dealer and shoot them all

Another second of BOHNTR's recommendation. Find someone who can set up you up and show you how to shoot them properly from the start. It will be alot of fun testing all the different bows with your wife. If you have a nice shop nearby, you should be able to find one that fits your fancy pretty quickly.

Tell us where you live and maybe there will be someone who has some suggestions of a shop that could help you out too.

Good Luck with it and let us know what you end up with.

Cheers,
Pete

Welcome to the club! I agree with all the other replies. find someone who knows what they are doing and find the bow that is right for you and your wife. congrats on the fact that your wife is willing to get out there with you.

Fletch Setter off of Koeppen Rd. in Rainier or Chehalis Archery House off of Hwy 12. Ive heard the guy in Rainier is good, and close to home. I paper tuned my bow at Chehalis and the old guy in there is great and knows his stuff. I have had nothing but bad luck with Olympia (Black Lake) Archery in Olympia.
