I'm not afraid to admit that when I found that out I started to tear up. I am not very religious, but I hope that there is a hell so he can burn.

What an evil, evil, evil man. This is beyond tragic - it is horrifying to the worst degree. Just sickening. Only godly emotion is capable of judging that man. I hope the knowledge of his crimes weighs down upon him for the eternities.

I can't imagine anyone doing anything like that that to an innocent child and those were his own kids! Unbelievable!
This reminds me of Robert Fisher and what he did to his kids and wife here in Scottsdale Arizona. He sliced his kids throat and shot his wife in the head. I can't remember if he sliced her throat or not. Then he turned on the gas in the house and left blowing the house up and burning it when the gas got to the hot water heater. Unlike this story Fisher didn't kill himself but some of the story line is about the same or seem familiar. Fisher got away and has never been found. Some speculate he killed himself in some caverns. Some think he made it to Mexico. No-one really knows but he was a monster with what he did to his kids. That was 12 years ago. I said the same thing then that completesportmans said above. I just cant believe anyone could do that to thier own kids.

Exactly what I thought GBA - Fisher was a true monster. He is still on the FBI 10 Most Wanted list.

It seems the Powell family wanted to bury their POS killer next to his two young sons that he murdered. The boys were buried in a single plot together and the Powell family was planning to buy the adjacent plot to bury the killer next to the boys.
They will not be doing that now. Two law enforcement officers bought both plots on each side of the boys to prevent Powell being buried next to his sons that he hacked to death.

The crime fighters that bought those two plots are awesome. I heard on the news tonight that they have offered either plot to the Cox family if Susan's remains are ever found.
Let me vent on how dispicable the Powell family is. Josh is about as evil as they come. From killing pets in his youth to taking a hatchet to his boys he is truely one of satan's own. His Dad must have been as big as a POS early in life as he is now. He's in jail for voyerism and child porn. I do feel bad for the one sister who has estranged herself from her horrible family. Now lets talk about the jerk relatives who are trying to have Josh buried by his sons. They can't get the grave next to the boys so they are trying to get one that is on a hill slightly above the boys grave. What pathetic examples of humans. It seems they want Josh to be there out of spite to haunt the Cox family.
A father should be buried by his sons. Josh is in now way a father to these boys. No father could take a hatchet to his boys. I sure hope that the court injunction that has been filed to block Josh's remains from being buried anywhere near the boys graves goes through.
Josh's remains shouls be thrown out in the west desert where he likely killed susan. That way the coyotes could deficate on his remains as they pass by. Maybe the coyotes wouldn't even go near something that reaks so badly of evil.

I have followed this story from a distance and just hope that Health and Human Services and family courts have learned from this to avoid a future tragedy. First Powell shouldn't have any contact with the boys. Since he was given visitation more than just a woman should have been sent to assist. A real tragedy that didn't have to happen. Hopefully the boys legacy will be a review of court procedures and policy.

Cornhusker I doubt it will change policy with Child protective services or the courts. I can tell you horror stories about severe child abuse and the kids being returned to the abuser for a second go around on abuse.
Child protective services in many areas and the courts have this obsession about not breaking up a family instead of concertrating on the child's welfare that leads to cases like this with the Powell family.
