Here is a great article that shows why invasive species really need to be dealt with here in the United States if we want game species to reach or try to reach historic population numbers. Regulation changes with hunting will help, but will reach a low ceiling carrying capacity across the United States if the habitat from the past is now affected by today?s invasive species. The United States has a loss of $137 billion per year from non-native species. That is not counting the value loss from species extinctions, loss in biodiversity, ecosystem services, or aesthetics.
