Every year me and my shed dog Daisy have a shed finding competition and every year Daisy starts out just kicking my butt but I comeback in April and end up winning. In April the ground squirrels are out and its getting warm. Daisy loves looking for ground squirrels and hates hot weather which messes up her antler hunting. This year however I did not have time to do any spring training with her so she had a slow start but now she's on her game. Yesturday we found 4 antlers, 2 a piece. Today she started out just really whooping my butt and had 6 antlers to one. But when the sun came out she kinda just lost it. She was still hunting hard but just couldn't keep me from catching up. We ended the day 6 to 6 and one deadhead for Daisy. Here are some pictures of our day. Look at Daisy's ears. Ha ha.
Daisy beside a winter kill fawn. Look at her big tongue. I hate it when she slobbers all over my truck.
This is what we ended up with after 2 days. There are 3 sets accross the front row.
So far this years totals are Daisy-18, fatrooster-14. Daisy also has 2 deadheads. She's beaten me but I'm hangin' tough! fatrooster.
