With Michael Bloomberg being the head of the group that ran the check, I would wonder if it could be slanted and not show important facts. Like how many denials were made in error and later corrected?

This was a typical fake news story. The rate of rejections is equivalent to prior years. And many were clerical errors and eventually approved.

The real question (story) should be how many prosecutions took place. It is a felony to even submit the form if you are a banned person. The stats for this year have not been released on prosecutions, but the previous year it was 12. TWELVE.

Even with the grossly inflated number, people who are prohibited from owning guns are not be prosecuted for committing the felony of trying to acquire another firearm. (I say another because most criminals already have access to firearms.)

The real story is the very, very few (12) prosecutions for this felony. Notice they don't even say convictions, just prosecutions.

This was just another fabricated news story with an agenda, and meant to deflect, not enlighten.
