Utah man accused of stealing catalytic converters worth $45K

A man with a long history of drug and drug-related crimes has been arrested and accused of stealing $45,000 worth of catalytic converters off of cars at a repair shop.

These plicks pull up in the night and steal your converters. My buddy has a 3/4 ton Ram and pulled up to the jobsite loud as hell. I walked out and started laughing until he told me what it cost to replace them.
He also told me what he wanted to do to these fine gentlemen in so many words. Big Irishman wouldn't want to get on his bad side....

Scrap price for these must be up. Article in our local paper today about people being arrested for stealing them. There had been over 50 stolen in town this year.

If you are talking about the new prices to replace them then $45,000 worth isn't very many. Maybe 20 to 30.

They steal them randomly here, parking lots, driveways, etc. They baited the people they caught. Is this kind of baiting okay?

I get calls at my auto repair every week. Recyclers that want to buy any that we have removed. I know what they are going to ask for before they even ask. They all start by saying "hey boss" or "hey bro"
