wow! wonder where this was? I was up Missionary ridge two years ago coming down a steep draw. This is where they had the big fire back in early 2000's.
It was almost dark and I heard a HUGE crash that scared the hell out of me at first, than realized it was a tree that fell probably not 50 yards from me.
Trees falling up there have been an issue since the fire.

I think that is the result of a certain MM'er that was elk hunting and shooting one of his big rifles.. He missed the elk but killed the tree and you can see the result. That's why it always pays to follow up on those direct tree hits.
