Went on our annual Northern Idaho meat hunt and lucked out on day 1 with this fella, stopping long enough for a round to put him the ranger, Good looking 8 pointer(eastern count) for the area and glad I was ready and made a great shot..2 more to go so back to the woods we go??

That's a goodun! Just curious if you are finding any dead deer where you are hunting? We ended up filling our tags but saw less deer than normal and found quite a few carcasses. Like you, we have made an annual pilgrimage to northern Idaho for a couple decades now to hunt whitetails. Not only is it a meat hunt but a dang fun hunt! Good luck on the rest of your tags. -----SS

Here's my haul from this year.

we have seen some but not alot where we are at, it's a fun hunt and became a annual thing with a brother who has since passed from cancer, even if all the damn deer are gone I'm still headed up here every year just to stalk the mountains and relive past hunts with my bros gone and still here..love this country??

Buddies wife shot her doe tonight with my 6.5 creed, her first deer but she's not about the pics so you just get the deer lmao... she made a great shot at 150 yards in the neck but hates social media and refused to get a pic with the deer, hahaha oh well..now it's all about my bud and to find a good buck for him...pressing on and loving the process...LETS GO BRANDON?????

I wish I could hit 'Like' a thousand times on this post!! I actually wrote a post on a different forum about this exact subject.....does anyone really hunt anymore just for fun or tradition even if there are not 'trophy' deer around every corner? I find that those who do are the happiest hunters in the world.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your hunt walking sacred ground with loved ones, present and departed.

Thanks for sharing with us!----SS

Well it's official, we are tagged out in 3 consecutive days in the woods, My buddy is and always will be a meat hunter so when this buck presented a perfect shot he didn't hesitate.. Making memories with some special friends is priceless.. no matter how the hunt turns out?????

Lol, in terms of how Idaho treats their hunters/fishers and people in general they beat the heck out of Ca any day

Sad thing is it will be just as crowded in 5 more years with sportsmen. Every one is getting the hell out of Commiefornia, and moving here. And i can't really blame em..
