I got a letter from the Idaho Fish and Game saying that I had drawn one of these tags. I am going to take the elk tag and would like to know if anyone knows some good areas to hunt for a BIG bull.
First advice- check out the harvest reports and see where the best in the state are according to what you are looking for. I know if I got it I would hunt the rut, and I would hunt the early hunt in the Owyhees because there were 5 tags last year, and the success was 100%-unit 40-42- on 6 pt. or better bulls. I guess it depends on where you live and what time of the year you want to hunt and what kind of terrain.
