Scored today on the 2nd or 3rd best buck I have been able to find this year on this hunt. Saw about 15 bucks today, but most all of them were dinks. He's 14 1/8" by 13 7/8", with 5 1/2" bases and 4 1/2" prongs. He's not great by rifle standards but I set my personal goals at about 14" or better with a muzzleloader, and am not disappointed. A nice 140 yard quartering shot, with the White Whitetail 50 cal. and 100 gr Pyrodex P - the 385 grain Hornady Great Plains bullet did him in.
Had a big snow storm coming in tonight, and wanted to go deer hunting tomorrow so his bad luck just rained down on him today.
