Idaho Archery Season

Anyone out there been out chasing deer with a bow yet? I went out last night to a spot I thought would hold some good bucks since I seen a bunch last year....about 3/4 of the way up the hill my dad spotted a big old bear.....we guessed him around 300lbs....he was headed towards the top and we got in front of him and spooked him away from our destination. At the top of the hill we seen a bunch of magpies fly off and instantly we knew something was dead. Come to find out it was a dead forked horn that had been burried half way and had bear crap all around it. Needless to say we didnt see what we had hoped for in the area....2 does was all....I think if the bear moves out of there maybe the deer will come back....we didnt have much time to check around on different hills but im sure there are still some good bucks in the area.
So for this weekend at least I am going to try for an antelope one more time and see what happens....then later next week I will try the spot again and see if ol blacky moved off...or if he kills something else.

I was out the first two days ekl/deer hunting.Saw 9 good four points but could never get a good stalk.called in a few elk but could never seal the deal.saw alot of bulls and they were really getting after it in the evenings.My suggestion would be to sit the deer and shoot the bear that will get him out of there,and make a nice rug.

I made it out for a few hours opening day but the only horns I saw were on a moose.
Hopefully a few of us will have some pictures to post soon.

I went out opening day also, like Brian all I saw were moose. The 6 of Sept. I will start my 2 week hunt.

I went out opening day and the only horns I saw were on cows. Hundreds and hundreds of cows. I never even saw a deer. Hopefully I will have more luck this weekend.
