ID Wolf News

It's about time a member of the F&G Commission spoke his mind in public! He's pretty right on about sportsmen helping to take care of the problem as well! I've heard many, many grumblings from them!

AMEN!!

Thank you, Mr. Budge....let's DO something about it.

I've been saying that to anyone who would listen (I know others have, as well.) verbally and in writing for a long time.

And the lions are slaughtering the deer.

Within the shadows, go quietly.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-12-10 AT 07:08AM (MST)[p]Good for him. Anyone with wildlife management 101 knows that we humans have some ability to manage wildlife. Most State Game agencies were started by concerned hunters. Not by animal rights radicals. The idea of management was to have high game animal populations and low predator populations. Society benefits from utilizing wildlife, both as a food source and as a recreational pursuit. Hunters spending money benefits people and wildlife. Liberals hate this.
I think more game departments need to speak out about wildlife management and be pro hunting when they talk to the media. Young hunters have grown up with the low deer numbers we have now. It does not have to stay this way. Game departments have adjusted and now have creative ways to increase revenue by increasing costs to just apply for tags. Not by providing more animals to hunt.
Our liberal, left leaning news media has spoken nightly to a whole generation of Americans, corrupting their minds with the politically correct mindset. This favors giving animals the same rights as humans and removing hunters from the natural scene and replacing human hunters with top end predators. So now we have too many coyotes, lions, wolves and bears and to few deer. Now wolves are expanding and decreasing elk herds which had been doing OK.
It is the same thing that has occurred in politics. Conservative thinkers have been demonized for decades by the socialists media. It seems the most hope we have for turning this tide is women politicians. They seem to be the most well spoken politicians we have right now. Most political men seem to have been neutered?

Just an old man's thoughts on what he has seen transpire over the years.

I have been hunting in Idaho for the last several years in the same zone. I have seen an increase in wolf sightings every year and decrease in the numbers of Elk. It is so bad that I did not hunt there last year. I think that wolves should be managed like any other big game animal. It is good the hear the Idaho fish and game come out and tell it like it is. I hope that the federal government minds it own business and lets individual states manage their own wildlife. It seems that the federal government has bigger problems to worry about right now anyway.

Like I said in the other post regarding wolves and other uncontrolled predators in your area. Let's not talk about doing the right thing. Let's just do the right thing and not talk about it.
