I took me an hour to find the other side about 400 yards away, that's when I realized that I GOT ROBBED!!! Look at that G4, or lack of!!

Here they are together. I measured them and giving the right antler the 18" that the other side had they'd go over 390"! Also on the side of the broken G4 there was another decent sized point coming off the side of it too! The set could have been right near 400" if they hadn't been broke. At least I found them though and I'm still excited about finding them. Enjoy the rest of the pics from my trip too.

I have logged a ton of hard miles this Spring and even followed Royer up the side of that rock pile behind his house hoping to steal one out from under him and I still have yet to find a bone this year. Boo hoo. Maybe tomorrow though ;-).

Hey I'm glad you guys enjoyed my pictures, it sure was fun finding them!! Bret, I don't know what to tell you, Royer finds a lot of bone, you just might be jinxed.
Brandon, I sure hope that wasn't a 3rd antler in the picture, if it was I missed it and I'd hate to have to admit that I stood that close to an antler w/o seeing it.
If anyone wants to come look for sheds with me sometime just give me a call I'd be happy to take anyone out ........YA RIGHT!!! Actually I'm into looking for sheds with friends and fellow antler afficianados but not in my good spots. Sorry guys!

Here's a close up of that antler you guys wanted to see. The second pic is of the match that I found first. You guys tell me how big you think it is. I had a brain lapse and didn't take any pics of the set together.

Been lookin at your pics for quite some time now Josh....tell me if I'm wrong but I've noticed that some of the sheds that have been laying around for a bit (the whiter ones)don't seem to have much chew? Seems like you guys down there don't have as much rodent chew??????

Scott you're right. Some of the sheds I find have had the burrs chewed a little but in the desert country the rodents don't really go after them that much. Now if I find them in the oakbrush or up in the pine trees they get hammered. Antlers in the pines get trashed!!!! I can go out in the desert and find antlers that might have laid out there anywhere from 3-10+ years. The set that is under the same small tree with the one thats stuck in the dirt upside down still, I bet that set has been there for at least 5 years w/o being eaten on. I have found sheds that I know were 9 years old and one that I walked w/in a foot of last year that my buddy kindly pointed out to me as I past it, that I remember finding the match to it back in 1990. That was the oldest shed I can, for a fact, say that it laid there for 14 years. If I had a scanner I'd post the pics of it. It was half buried and had small roots grown into the beam and points in places.
I don't envy those of you guys that have to hit the woods ASAP before the squirrels and whatever else eats them. I hate finding fresh sheds that are chewed on already.

Josh

Thanks for clearing that up! This year was real bad for deer especially cause of no snow so to speak.....horns hit the ground and wouldn't get covered with snow...plus the deer were real scattered....rodents probably had a good year.....
